Softball Recap: Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors vs. Dorchester Academy Raiders        
        
		
            Andrew Jackson Academy extended their losing streak  to nine  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They came up short against  the Dorchester Academy Raiders, falling  16-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  18-3  back in March.
  Ryleigh Trivette made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.  Carrigan Moore was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with one  run and one  double.
As for Dorchester Academy,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won eight games by 11  runs or more  so far this season.
On Dorchester Academy's side,  Emery McClure made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   six  hits. McClure has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Brinley Pope was a standout: she got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Lily Canady, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Looking ahead, Andrew Jackson Academy will head out to  face off against Cross  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Stingrays will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  match than the last. As for Dorchester Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson Davis Academy  at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. Dorchester Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Jefferson Davis Academy has averaged an impressive 7.7  runs per game this season.
