After a string of four wins, Holly Hill Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Orangeburg Prep Indians by a score of 8-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-13 two weeks ago.

Milly Kate Prescott was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Kloie Mizell was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Prescott wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Holly Hill Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.

Holly Hill Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Orangeburg Prep, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Holly Hill Academy will challenge Northwood Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Orangeburg Prep, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Colleton Prep Academy on the 25th.
