Reynoldsburg and Newark are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Reynoldsburg Raiders will square off against the Newark Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Reynoldsburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Newark likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Reynoldsburg took their match with ease, bagging a 67-38 win over Lancaster. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Golden Gales are ranked 282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newark). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 81-40 victory over Teays Valley. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Reynoldsburg's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. As for Newark, their win bumped their record up to 17-3.

Reynoldsburg beat Newark 49-37 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reynoldsburg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
