Football Game Preview: Schaumburg Saxons vs. Palatine Pirates

Schaumburg is 1-8 against Palatine since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Saxons will head out on the road to square off against the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Schaumburg is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 49 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Hoffman Estates on Friday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 28-7. The matchup marked the Saxons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Palatine and Barrington, and Barrington kept the tradition alive. The Pirates lost 42-21 to the Fillies/Broncos on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly 21 points.

Schaumburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Palatine, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Schaumburg took a serious blow against Palatine when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 35-0. Can the Saxons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
