Softball Recap: Ruston's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ruston ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Ouachita Parish Lions 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bearcats have posted since March 6th.

The team relied heavily on Morgan Foster, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Za'Meriah Jones also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ruston's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-14. As for Ouachita Parish, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ruston is set to face off against their familiar foe West Monroe at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ouachita Parish will challenge rival Pineville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
