Baseball Recap: North Kingstown Skippers vs. East Providence Townies
North Kingstown extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 12-7 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Providence Townies. The Skippers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Townies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.
As for East Providence, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games.
For East Providence's part, Tyler Dicecco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, East Providence saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Roche, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.
As of now, neither North Kingstown nor the Townies have any future games scheduled.
