Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Victory Charter's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Victory Charter won the last time they faced Gem State Adventist Academy, and Cody Luce did his part to make sure it happened again. The Victory Charter Vipers blew past the Gem State Adventist Academy Jaguars 80-42 on Tuesday thanks in part to Luce, who went 10 for 19 on his way to 35 points along with seven boards and six assists. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Carson Wood was another key player, going 8 of 12 en route to 18 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, Gem State Adventist Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Deacon Smith posted 11 points.

Victory Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Gem State Adventist Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Victory Charter will face off against Notus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Victory Charter will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Gem State Adventist Academy has already played their next match, a 61-57 victory against Idaho City on the 30th.
