It's playoff time, and Orcutt Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Hueneme Vikings get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. Give the Spartans' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Orcutt Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-11-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Hueneme, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-15.

Looking ahead, Orcutt Academy will face off against Rancho Mirage at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rattlers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. Hueneme does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
