Baseball Recap: Shiloh Christian Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heart River co-op [Belfield/South Heart], Shiloh Christian was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hettinger/Scranton Black Devils by a score of 5-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-1 back in April.

Easton Monson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Shiloh Christian let Evan Fuchs and Mason Moldenhauer run wild. Fuchs went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Moldenhauer went 1-for-3 with one home run. Those three hits gave Fuchs a new career-high. Jace Kunze was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Shiloh Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Hettinger/Scranton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shiloh Christian will square off against Carrington at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hettinger/Scranton, they will be playing at home against Hazen at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
