Volleyball Game Preview: Sunnyslope Vikings vs. Xavier College Prep Gators + Official Tickets

Sunnyslope hasn't had much luck against Xavier College Prep recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Vikings will head out to square off against the Gators at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sunnyslope is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Corona del Sol, who was ranked second at the time (Sunnyslope was ranked 11th). The Vikings walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Aztecs on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Sunnyslope had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 26-24, 25-13, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Xavier College Prep made easy work of Desert Vista on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-9, 25-18.

Xavier College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 28-2. As for Sunnyslope, their win bumped their record up to 21-12.

Sunnyslope suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Xavier College Prep in their previous meeting on Wednesday. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
