 Conifer is 1-9 against Golden since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Tuesday. The Conifer Lobos will look to defend their home field  against the Golden Demons at 4:00  p.m.
 Conifer fought the good fight in their extra-innings  contest against Standley Lake  on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Gators by a score of  4-3.
 Conifer saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Cole Margulis, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. Margulis has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.
 Meanwhile, Golden had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. They were the clear victor by  a  7-1 margin over the Cougars. Considering Golden has won nine matchups by more than five  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Golden got a big performance out of  Jaydon Stroup, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-3.  Jacob Dehm was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 Conifer's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Golden, their win was  their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 16-1.
 Conifer came up short against Golden when the teams last played  on April 13th, falling  5-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of  Golden's  Sawyer Brinkman, who   struck out 12 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits (and only one walk).
