Baseball Recap: Red Bud Takes a Loss

Red Bud came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Alton Redbirds by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Musketeers have suffered since March 19th.

Red Bud saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was BARRETT Wagner, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Red Bud and nudges their season record down to 18-7. As for Alton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.

Red Bud will face off against Freeburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Alton, they will take on Althoff Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Redbirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
