Baseball Recap: Sutherland Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Sutherland and Batavia meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Knights fell 9-4 to the Blue Devils. It was the first time this season that the Knights let down their fans at home.

Sutherland's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Batavia, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Coming up, Batavia will square off against Pittsford at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sutherland will be paying especially close attention to the Blue Devils' game: after the Blue Devils face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Sutherland again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
