Softball Recap: Monticello Buckaroo vs. Altamont Longhorns        
        
		
            
 Sadly, Monticello is still looking for their first win of the season after eight  contests. Their  tough  19-0 defeat to the Altamont Longhorns  in Tuesday's  second game might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Monticello of the  22-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  in Tuesday's  first game.
 Monticello saw one different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Millie Morrison, who  went 1-for-1 with two  stolen bases.
 On Altamont's side,  Kylee Woodhouse looked comfortable as she  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (she also only allowed one  walk). Woodhouse has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  a single  walk in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Kinley Duncan was a standout: she scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-2.  Reaygan Miles was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Altamont, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record  this season.
 Monticello will head out on the road to  square off against  Wayne at 2:00  p.m.  in Friday's  first game. Monticello has given up an average of 18.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Altamont, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Duchesne at 3:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both teams will come into the  matchup having just posted big wins, so someone is set to suffer a big change in fortunes.
