Basketball Game Preview: Brownstown Central Braves vs. Corydon Central Panthers

The Brownstown Central Braves and the Corydon Central Panthers will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brownstown Central's defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so Corydon Central's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Brownstown Central is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Austin just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The loss put an end to the Braves' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Corydon Central had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 65-26. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.

Corydon Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Brownstown Central, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Brownstown Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Corydon Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 40-37. Will Brownstown Central repeat their success, or does Corydon Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
