Baseball Recap: El Camino Eagles vs. Dixon Rams
El Camino had lost seven straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 5-19 to make it eight. They came up short against the Dixon Rams, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-8 on Monday.
El Camino saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Snyder, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
As for Dixon, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15-1. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly ten runs.
On Dixon's side, Owen Tomelloso tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Tomelloso a new career-high.
At the plate, Kai Mulitsch-Reynolds was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Dixon is 4-1 when Mulitsch-Reynolds posts two or more runs, but 2-14-1 otherwise. Isacc Santos was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
While El Camino had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
