Basketball Recap: Perrysburg Yellow Jackets vs. Whitmer Panthers
Perrysburg won against Southview last Tuesday with 62 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Perrysburg Yellow Jackets took down the Whitmer Panthers 62-43. The Yellow Jackets pushed the score to 51-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.
Despite the defeat, Whitmer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Olivia Welch went 5 for 10 en route to 16 points. Ereyna Moorer was another key player, scoring six points in addition to two steals.
The victory made it two in a row for Perrysburg and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Whitmer, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Perrysburg will square off against Northview at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Whitmer, they will face off against Findlay at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
