Wortham fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against LaPoynor on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 8-6. On the bright side, the six- run effort marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring contest to date.

Wortham is on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14. As for LaPoynor, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-11.
