Softball Recap: Freehold Boro Colonials vs. Long Branch Green Wave
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freehold Boro). They blew past the Long Branch Green Wave 17-1 on Wednesday. The Colonials not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26, 2024.
Alexa Baio looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Angelina Ciesnicki was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Koppelman, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Freehold Boro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
