The Scott's Branch Eagles will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Manning Monarchs at 2:30 p.m. Manning took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Scott's Branch, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Scott's Branch was able to grind out a solid win over Lake Marion, taking the game 30-17. The victory was just what Scott's Branch needed coming off of a 68-44 loss in their prior contest.
Jordan Kind was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Randy Williams was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Manning unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by Crestwood 81-40. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Manning in their matchups with Crestwood: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the defeat, Manning had strong showings from Lovell Stevenson, who scored 6 points along with 4 blocks, and Tavion Carter, who scored 4 points along with 9 rebounds. Carter has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Frierson, who scored 2 points.
The win got Scott's Branch back to even at 2-2. As for Manning, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Scott's Branch might still be hurting after the 68-44 loss they got from Manning when the teams last played on Friday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Manning's Carter, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds.
