Imperial is a perfect 5-0 against Brawley since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Imperial Tigers challenge Brawley Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Imperial has three straight wins, Brawley has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Wednesday, Imperial got the win against West Shores by a conclusive 3-0.

Imperial was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-17, 25-20.

Israel Rangel and Alan Vindiola were among the main playmakers for Imperial as the former had 14 aces and 12 assists and the latter had 12 digs. With that strong performance, Rangel is now averaging an impressive 2.4 aces per game.

They weren't the only good server: Imperial was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 45 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Brawley lost 3-0 to Calexico on Monday.

While Brawley was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-16.

Imperial's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Brawley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything went Imperial's way against Brawley when the teams last played back in February, as Imperial made off with a 3-0 win. Does Imperial have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brawley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
