Football Recap: Ryan Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Granbury last Friday, Ryan came back down to earth. The Raiders and the Aledo Bearcats were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Raiders suffered a 15-14 loss. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ryan's loss came despite strong showings from Tre'Vaughn Reynolds and Quin Henigan. Reynolds gained 98 total yards, while Henigan threw for 127 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Even if they lost, Ryan's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Demari Ruth was especially locked on to Aledo's QB and sacked him twice. Ruth is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. Ryan got some further help from Kha'Ron Freeman-Wade: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Having lost for the first time this season, Ryan fell to 4-1. As for Aledo, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Ryan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 30-21 win against Richland on the 10th. As for Aledo, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 61-0 victory against Granbury on the 10th.
