Somers and Walter Panas are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Tuskers will face off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Somers is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Somers nor John Jay made it on the board until the eighth inning. The Tuskers fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 2-1. Tuskers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wolves since on Thursday.

Julia Peanamanda made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple and one stolen base. Victoria Morel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Walter Panas came up short against Harrison back in April, falling 13-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Somers and nudges their season record down to 8-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Walter Panas, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Somers took their victory against Walter Panas in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Tuskers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
