Basketball Game Preview: Madison County Cowboys vs. Brooks County Trojans

The Madison County Cowboys are taking a road trip to take on the Brooks County Trojans at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Madison County sitting on three straight victories and Brooks County on eight.

On Saturday, Madison County earned a 52-42 win over Fort White. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cowboys' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Indians are ranked 109th).

Meanwhile, Brooks County was able to grind out a solid win over Turner County on Saturday, taking the game 44-33. The Trojans pushed the score to 39-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Titans cut but never quite recovered from.

Madison County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Brooks County, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Madison County came up short against Brooks County in their previous meeting last Saturday, falling 46-41. Can Madison County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
