Basketball Recap: Parsippany Triumphs

After losing to Randolph the last time they met, Parsippany decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Parsippany Redhawks escaped with a win on Thursday against the Randolph Rams by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53.

Parsippany's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Niedermaier, who went 7 of 15 en route to 18 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Arthur Smith, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Parsippany smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive games.

Parsippany now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Randolph, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Parsippany didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-47 defeat against Morristown on the 1st. As for Randolph, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Delbarton at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
