Basketball Game Preview: Marsing Huskies vs. Vision

Marsing is 5-0 against Vision since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Marsing Huskies are taking a road trip to take on Vision at 7:30 p.m. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Marsing and nine for Vision.

Last Thursday, Marsing ended up a good deal behind Melba and lost 75-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), the Huskies still had to take the loss.

Marsing's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Juan Ponce, who posted 27 points and seven steals, and Teagan Kinney, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds gave Kinney a new career-high. Dresden Wood was another key player, putting up nine points.

Even though they lost, Marsing smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Vision took a blow against New Plymouth on Thursday, falling 70-39.

Marsing's record now sits at 7-9. As for Vision, their record is now 3-16.

Everything came up roses for Marsing against Vision when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 63-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marsing since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
