Baseball Recap: Hickman County Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Hickman County waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Dawson Springs Panthers with a sharp 15-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-1 back in March.

Witt Carter looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hayden Mullins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Airon Rose, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.

Hickman County's victory bumped their record up to 20-6-1. As for Dawson Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-23.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickman County will head out to square off against Calloway County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dawson Springs, they will challenge Fort Campbell at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.59 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
