Softball Recap: Preston Victorious

Preston is still undefeated this season after their contest against Skyline on Tuesday, but Skyline came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Indians came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Grizzlies. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 16-5 win the Grizzlies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Ellie Keller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Averie Madsen, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played.

Preston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

Preston's record now sits at 13-0. As for Skyline, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-4.

Preston will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Grizzlies: the pair will be back at it again later today.
