Volleyball Preview: Wall Hawks vs. Comfort Bobcats/Deer
The Wall Hawks will challenge the Comfort Bobcats/Deer at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Wall was able to grind out a solid victory over Sweetwater, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.
Meanwhile, Comfort beat Llano 3-1 on Tuesday.
Comfort had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-22.
Comfort's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hope Van Geffen, who had 25 kills, 18 digs, and five aces. Van Geffen is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in the last 26 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tindall Ahrens, who had 13 digs, 12 kills, and eight aces.
Comfort was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Llano only served five.
Wall has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a massive bump to their 24-14 record this season. As for Comfort, their record is now 21-15.
