Soccer Recap: Turner Ashby Comes Up Short

Turner Ashby came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-0 to the William Monroe Dragons. While losing is never fun, Turner Ashby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 134th, while William Monroe are ranked 36th).

Turner Ashby's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for William Monroe, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 14-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Turner Ashby is set to take on their familiar foe Rockbridge County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, William Monroe will square off against rival Harrisonburg at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
