Baseball Game Preview: Northeast Jones Tigers vs. Bay Tigers

Northeast Jones will square off against Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northeast Jones' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Bay's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Northeast Jones is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Seminary just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 10-0. The Tigers were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Bulldogs' pitchers proved too tough.

Meanwhile, Bay entered their tilt with Moss Point on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They didn't even let Moss Point on the board, marking their second-straight 12-0 shutout.

Landen Marquar looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Bay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Bay pushed their record up to 5-23 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northeast Jones, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7-1.
