Baseball Recap: Washburn Takes a Loss

Washburn fell victim to Maryville Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Pirates' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Washburn's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Maryville Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Washburn will take on Cumberland Gap at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Washburn's pitchers better be ready for this one: Cumberland Gap has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
