Basketball Recap: Plant Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Plant took on Durant on Tuesday. The Plant Panthers pulled ahead with a 42-41 photo finish over the Durant Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Plant was led to victory by Madelyn Galuski and Sanae Graham. Galuski went 8 of 17 on her way to 22 points and seven boards, while Graham dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Galuski a new career-high in points.

Plant smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durant only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.

Kassie Longanecker and Icyss Lopez certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Longanecker went 6 for 15 en route to 17 points and six steals, while Lopez posted ten points along with five assists and three steals. Longanecker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brinkley Marsh, who put up seven points.

Plant's record now sits at 10-13. As for Durant, they moved to 13-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Plant will take on Newsome at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Durant, they will face off against Tampa Bay Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
