Baseball Game Preview: McMinnville Grizzlies vs. Century Jaguars

For the second straight game, McMinnville will face off against Century. The Grizzlies will take on the Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. McMinnville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Century's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

McMinnville fell victim to Century and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 9-0 to the Jaguars. That makes it the first time this season the Grizzlies have let down their home crowd.

For Century's part, Jace Willet made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Willet a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camden Gager, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Kale Naone also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Century is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for McMinnville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
