Volleyball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Culver City Centaurs.

While Centennial was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Culver City's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-12, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Kenji Toombs, who had five kills, five aces, and three digs. He has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last seven times he's played.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Culver City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will welcome Santa Monica at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Culver City, they will be playing at home against Beverly Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
