Volleyball Recap: Lake Braddock Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kenlee King and Micki Millsaps + How To Watch

Lake Braddock and West Springfield squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lake Braddock had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in October.

Lake Braddock started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-9, 25-15, 25-14.

Despite the defeat, Lake Braddock had strong showings from Micki Millsaps, who had 18 assists and four digs, and Kenlee King, who had nine kills, seven digs, and two aces. Millsaps has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last six times she's played.

West Springfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sabrina Kleiman led the charge by getting seven digs and three aces. Andi Tobin also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lake Braddock's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for West Springfield, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-2.

Lake Braddock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Springfield, they will welcome West Potomac at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
