Putnam Valley came tearing into  Tuesday's  game with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Valhalla Vikings with a sharp  13-1 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by nine  runs or more this season.
 Dominic Benedetto looked comfortable as he  struck out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts any time he's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  James Sanford was a standout: he got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aaron Pierre, who  went 1-for-2 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run.
 Putnam Valley  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
Putnam Valley's win was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Valhalla,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-3.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Putnam Valley will venture away from home to  square off against Haldane  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.8  runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valhalla, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Tuckahoe  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
