Baseball Recap: Mason County Central Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mason County Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against the Hesperia Panthers by a score of 11-6. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Trent Hawke was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mason County Central is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. Hawke was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Pierce Bladzik was excellent, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Michael Chye, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and three runs.

The win got Mason County Central back to even at 6-6. As for Hesperia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Mason County Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
