Football Recap: Fort Walton Beach Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fort Walton Beach can now relate to. They lost 21-0 to the Choctawhatchee Indians on Wednesday. Considering the last time the Vikings couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Choctawhatchee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Diaris Morales out in front who threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns. Kady Folsom was in the mix as well, providing the Indians with two scores.

Fort Walton Beach now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Choctawhatchee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-2.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Fort Walton Beach will venture away from home to take on Paxon School For Advanced Studies at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles' defense has only allowed 9.8 points per game this season, so the Vikings' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Choctawhatchee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Booker T. Washington at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Indians 9.3, the Wildcats 11) so any points scored will be well earned.
