Basketball Game Preview: Weeping Water Indians vs. Tri County Trojans

The Weeping Water Indians will take on the Tri County Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Weeping Water is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Sacred Heart on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Weeping Water came up short against Sacred Heart, falling 54-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered since January 9th.

They used a three-pronged attack on offense: Josey Dieter, Brinkley Mcadams, and Kalison Miller posted six points each. Dieter also led the team in rebounds with seven.

Meanwhile, Tri County posted their biggest victory since December 27, 2024 on Friday. They breezed past Sterling to the tune of 61-31. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.

Tri County's win came from a few key players Weeping Water will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sayber Hoesche, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Peters, who scored nine points along with five assists and five steals.

Tri County's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Weeping Water, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Weeping Water has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Tri County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Weeping Water skirted past Tri County 40-38 in their previous meeting back in December of 2014. Will Weeping Water repeat their success, or does Tri County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
