Basketball Recap: Hallie Brooks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Norton over Thomas More Prep-Marian

After flying high against Trego last Thursday, Norton came back down to earth. The Norton Bluejays lost to the Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs on the road by a 49-33 margin on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Monarchs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-29 back in January.

Norton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hallie Brooks, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 16 points along with seven boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kcanna Keiswetter, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Norton's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.

Coming up, Norton will challenge Scott at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thomas More Prep-Marian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
