Baseball Game Preview: Lawton Wolverines vs. Southeast Spartans

For the second straight game, Lawton will face off against Southeast. The Wolverines will welcome the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawton will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Lawton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Southeast on Monday as they made off with an 18-5 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolverines as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Adrian Garrison was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last two contests. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Nathan Hawzipta and Corbyn Swift did most of the damage at the plate: Hawzipta scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Swift scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5. Those three stolen bases gave Hawzipta a new career-high. Ivan 'Max' Thomasian was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Lawton's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 3-20. As for Southeast, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
