Softball Recap: High Point Academy Grizzlies vs. Southside Christian Sabres
High Point Academy scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Southside Christian Sabres as the High Point Academy Grizzlies made off with a 14-7 victory. The win was just what High Point Academy needed coming off of a 12-1 defeat in their prior matchup.
Julie Raines made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. Raines has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season. Raines was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, High Point Academy let Kyleigh Lawter and Alyx Creel loose on the outfield. Lawter went 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and a stolen base, while Creel scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Isabella Espinal, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
