Basketball Game Preview: Katz Yeshiva Storm vs. Hebrew Academy Warriors

After both having extra time off, the Katz Yeshiva Storm and the Hebrew Academy Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Katz Yeshiva is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Katz Yeshiva against Jewish Culture as the team secured a 48-12 victory. The Storm pushed the score to 34-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hebrew Academy). They blew past Divine Savior Academy, posting a 63-13 win. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Sharks are ranked 477th), the result last Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Katz Yeshiva's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Hebrew Academy, they moved to 9-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Katz Yeshiva didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Hebrew Academy when the teams last played on December 10th, but they still walked away with a 46-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Katz Yeshiva since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
