Soccer Recap: Del Oro Takes a Loss

Del Oro lost against Mira Monte back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Del Oro Suns took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mira Monte Lions. While losing is never fun, the Suns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 884th, while the Lions are ranked 171st).

Del Oro dropped their record down to 7-11-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Mira Monte, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3-3.

Del Oro will square off against East Bakersfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Bakersfield will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Del Oro surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mira Monte, they will face off against Arvin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mira Monte is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.
