Football Recap: East Ridge Knights vs. Ridge Community Bolts
After flying high against Freedom last Friday, East Ridge came back down to earth. The East Ridge Knights fell just short of the Ridge Community Bolts by a score of 14-11 on Friday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bolts apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why East Ridge lost, don't look at Uriah Maynard. Despite the final result, he rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 35 receiving yards.
Lavonski Tubbs was his usual excellent self, rushing for 240 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per carry for Ridge Community. Tubbs really tore up the turf during one magnificent 99-yard run.
East Ridge now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Ridge Community, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
East Ridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-13 victory vs. Celebration on the 27th. Ridge Community has also already played their next matchup, a 35-26 win against George Jenkins on the 30th.
