Preview: Los Lunas Tigers vs. Santa Fe Demons
Los Lunas and Santa Fe are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Los Lunas Tigers will be playing at home against the Santa Fe Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Lunas will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
A well-balanced attack led Los Lunas over Manzano in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Los Lunas came out on top against Manzano by a score of 47-34. Given Los Lunas' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Manzano is ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 52-21 loss at the hands of Albuquerque. Santa Fe was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-9.
Los Lunas is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Santa Fe, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Everything went Los Lunas' way against Santa Fe when the teams last played back in January as Los Lunas made off with a 46-21 win. Does Los Lunas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Fe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
