Indian Valley extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 9-10 in the process. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Minerva Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Braves also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2018.
Shelby Gossett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Natalie Musser was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Ashlynn Bolon was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
As for Minerva, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-15 record. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Minerva's side, Gabby Kashdan put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kashdan was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Indian Valley will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sandy Valley at 5:00 p.m. Minerva does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
