Basketball Game Preview: Collins Hill Eagles vs. Dacula Falcons

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Collins Hill Eagles duke it out with the Dacula Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday... Collins Hill will be strutting in after a victory while Dacula will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Collins Hill made easy work of Mountain View and carried off a 61-40 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Collins Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaleigh Heywood, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Heywood a new career-high in assists (seven). Another player making a difference was Imari Brewer, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Dacula unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 46-29 to Mill Creek. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Collins Hill will need focus on slowing down Jaliyah Benefield, one of several Dacula players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Dacula's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Collins Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Collins Hill has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Dacula struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Collins Hill suffered a grim 50-28 defeat to Dacula in their previous meeting back in January. Can Collins Hill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
