Basketball Recap: Kennice Anaver's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kwigillingok over Chief Paul Memorial

Kwigillingok was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 46-28 fall against the Chief Paul Memorial Falcons. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 34-33 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kwigillingok lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kennice Anaver, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bessie David, who earned nine points.

Kwigillingok's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Chief Paul Memorial, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Kongiganak the next time they take the court. Kwigillingok will head out to face Kongiganak at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Chief Paul Memorial will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
